Join fellow saxophonists for a special retreat that nourishes your artistry from the inside out. Set in a serene retreat center in Northern California, the program includes daily wellness practices, breathwork, rehearsals, group inquiry time, and chef-prepared vegetarian meals. It concludes with the highly anticipated One Heart Virtuoso Series, held in the acoustically rich Sudhana Recital Hall.
The retreat also offers a unique opportunity to cultivate positive, supportive relationships among value-aligned saxophonists.

Start each day with Tai Chi, movements, and guided meditation, awakening body, breath, and awareness.

Deepen your connection to breath—essential to saxophone playing and presence—through mindfulness of breathing techniques designed for relaxation, focus, and awareness.
🎶 Collaborative Rehearsals & Ensemble Playing & Jam Sessions
Rehearse and create music with a supportive community of saxophonists, exploring a variety of genres and styles.
✨ Concerts & Performances
Participate in the Saxophone Night and other concerts of the One Heart Virtuoso Concert Series. Hosted in the acoustically refined Sudhana Recital Hall, each concert welcomes a public audience of over 100 guests. This is an opportunity to channel a week of holistic practices into performance settings. Guidelines will apply for the selection of program content.
💡Presentation (Circle of Sharing)
Lead 15-minute presentation on a topic of your choice—such as wellness strategies, holistic projects, inspirational stories, creative processes, career development, or any area of expertise or passion that brings positive energy to you and others. We will ask you to share your initial ideas or a brief abstract with us in advance to ensure alignment.
💬 Lectures & Group Inquiry
Join roundtable discussions, evening talks, and group reflections on topics such as the musician’s brain, education, music industry, kindness and equanimity. These sessions are designed to provide useful knowledge and tools, encourage sharing of insights, reflection and wisdom.

Dr. Wenbo Yin is a saxophonist, wind conductor, and musicians' wellness coach noted for his bold, versatile artistry across a variety of genres. He has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, collaborated with Grammy-winning artists, won the Beverly Hills National Auditions, and played principal saxophone with prominent groups. Dr. Yin is a woodwind faculty at the Mendocino College in Northern California.
As co-founder of the One Heart Institute, a nonprofit organization that integrates music, wellness, and holistic practices, Wenbo is dedicated to supporting the well-being of musicians and individuals alike. He has facilitated music and mindfulness workshops in the U.S., Bhutan, and China, and continues to develop the Tai Chi for Musicians workshop, offered at various universities and institutions. Wenbo is also a certified wellness provider for music industry professionals with Backline Care, teaches Tai Chi at a local athletic club, and supports wellness work with a Parkinson’s group.
He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Saxophone Performance, Wind Conducting, and Jazz from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). He also embarked on an extended journey of study in Tai Chi, meditation, philosophy, and contemplative practices at Dharma Realm Buddhist University, deepening the integration between music-making and inner cultivation.
